Svalbard II

When I am inspired to create a new piece, as I was for for this one by Stefan Forster’s film, “Svalbard - The Arctic from Above”, I spend hours (and often days and days) studying the image, burning it into my brain.

I examine the landscape and take in the color palate that makes up the terrain. I think of my yarn as the colors in a paint box. I search through my stash and select the fibers I will need, choosing colors and textures.

And then I cast on the first stitch.
